Apple Touch Icons Tag in HTML5

Another new meta tag that has been introduced is the Apple touch icon meta tag, which allows you to define icons
that will be used on iOS when the user saves a web page to the home screen, as shown in the following example:

<link rel="apple-apple-icon" sizes="120x120" href="apple-icon-iphone-retina.png">

Although not part of the HTML5 specs, these icons are necessary to allow iOS users to have a nice icon if they save the web site or web application to their home screen.
